Topology details are stored at the Target level. Each target needs one or more endpoints to run executions on, and most targets need some property values assigned so that FlexDeploy knows how to find software locations, and how to login to the necessary applications.
Navigating to Target Endpoints and Properties
The screen to maintain this information is located inside the Target Groups screen. To access it, go to Topology in the menu.
You will arrive on the Target Group page. Select a target group row by clicking on it.
Click on the Environment on the right that you want to view or modify.
Maintaining Target Endpoints
The top half of the Targets page shows the endpoints currently mapped to a target, and the resource types that are selected for them.
1 - Map a new endpoint. This drop down allows choosing a new endpoint or existing endpoint and associating it to this target.
2 - Resource Types allow you to define certain characteristics to each endpoint. Some plugin operations only execute on certain types of endpoints. Workflows can also run some plugin operations on certain resource types. This is useful for complicated deployments such as Weblogic or EBS.
3 - You can remove an endpoint from a target.
Maintaining Target Properties
The bottom half of the screen allows you to manage the property values for the target. If a property you were expecting to fill in is not present, configure and activate your workflow and a project first and then come back to this screen, or see Manually Assigning Target Group Workflows and Plugins for more information.
1 - Filter to quickly find the property you want to change the value of
2 - Set the property’s value
3 - If you want to use Groovy script to set the value, click the { } button. See Working with Groovy for more information.
4 - Undo allows you to undo a change that you made.
Save be scrolling down and clicking save, or press CTRL + S so save.
Changing to another environment
When first setting up topology, or when modifying a property that must be set in all environments, you may find it easier to use the drop down in the top left to quickly change between environments. You will be asked if you wanted to save if you haven’t yet done so. You can use the browser back button or click the Targets tab in the top left to exit the Target Endpoints and Properties screen.
