Pre-deploy a named project reduces the generic nature of pipelines, as it assumes that the specific project is in the release and snapshot. To make the pipeline more generic, and therefore reusable, you should try to avoid tying it to specific projects where possible. The Pre-deploy step uses the output from the workflow and will set the values to Deploy workflow. For this to work, workflow developers has to use the same name and data type for both Pre-deploy output(Return As Outout selected) and Deploy input variables in the respective workflow. |
